Marketing deserves a seat at EVERY business meeting…it is the link between the consumer and the company’s brand.
There is much confusion surrounding the question “what is marketing?” If you look at job posts, you would think it is strictly a sales position—but it is so much more. A Marketing Consultant holds the hand of the business owner/management through the complete process of starting a business, to promoting it. By definition, it includes 4 all encompassing aspects.
HERE ARE THE “FOUR P’s OF MARKETING”
PRODUCT
Marketing defines the product. Sometimes the product is the company itself, and sometimes it is and individual product or product line. Marketing makes these distinctions while keeping the integrity of the company’s brand.
PRICE
Marketing helps determine the price. It takes into account the variable costs, fixed costs, supply/demand and profit. The right price can determine the success of a marketing campaign
PLACEMENT
Marketing determines the right target audience(s). (This takes into account the brand, the product, and the price.) A marketing consultant determines how and when to best reach this consumer.
PROMOTION
Marketing is in charge of getting the message out about your product and business. This incorporates traditional and modern media. No one can buy your product unless they know about it!
